This Martin Luther King Jr Day of Service, we celebrate the remarkable journey of High Schoolers for Front Liners (HSFL) and the incredible impact we have made in our community over the past year. From our humble beginnings with a small group of dedicated individuals, we have grown into a thriving nonprofit organization, making a difference in the lives of those in need. As we reflect on our progress, we are immensely proud of the community we have built and the difference we have made.
What makes us even prouder is the fact that almost every volunteer who joined us from the very beginning has stayed with us, offering their unwavering support to our mission. It is this sense of unity and dedication that has fueled our progress. Together, we have created a community of action-driven individuals who take immense pride in helping others. It is truly heartwarming to witness the commitment and passion of our volunteers as they continue to make a difference in the lives of those who need it most.
This MLK Day, we were contacted by Cloverly Elementary School and asked if the students could participate in the MLK Day of Service with HSFL. We were excited to onboard the students onto our team.
It was then that we had the pleasure of receiving sample letters from a remarkable 5th-grade student named Lucas Cho, who is just 10 years old.
Lucas, who has been a member of HSFL for nearly 3 years, has been writing letters to veterans since last year and has been a wonderful volunteer. When he sent over some sample letters, I was astounded by the quality of his work and felt compelled to acknowledge his outstanding efforts. Lucas sent in three example letters that he had meticulously crafted. Each letter was filled with warm messages of support for our veterans. It was clear that he had put tremendous effort into creating these letters. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Lucas for his remarkable dedication and for being an inspiration to all of us.
These letters, along with the contributions from numerous other individuals, were sent to the Baltimore VA Center, where they brought joy and comfort to the veterans who received them. It is through such acts of kindness and compassion that we are able to create positive change and make a meaningful impact on the lives of others.
As we reflect on the journey of HSFL, we are filled with gratitude for all the support we have received. Our growth and achievements would not have been possible without the dedication of our volunteers, the generosity of our donors, and the unwavering support of our community. We are proud of the strides we have made in our mission to provide eco-friendly hospital masks, inmate masks, heart pillows, and more to those who need them most.
