Hello everyone, today we held a zoom meeting going over some new updates. Thank you to everyone who attended, and here’s a recap if you missed it.
- The Kickstarter to launch the COVID-19 memorial site only runs for 7 more days: it ends on Thursday, May 6 2021!
- We really need your support to raise the remaining $914! Thank you to all our donors thus far, but Kickstarter operates on an all or nothing basis, so we don’t want to lose all that we’ve fundraised this past month.
- Even small donations are greatly appreciated because altogether they make a huge collective impact!
- FAQ: How will the money be used? Around $1000 will be for creating the website with all the features that we want. The rest will go towards monthly bandwidth payments in order to maintain a high-definition website. Like our previous Kickstarter, $0 of the funds are going to the student volunteers.
- Club renewals for high schools are coming up, and some of you have asked if you can create an HSFL club at your school. Yes, you can! As an example, Wootton already has one on the way.
- Setting up an HSFL club is a great way to gain some leadership experience.
- Since these clubs operate as a smaller division under HSFL, they would need to work with Allison to arrange drop-off dates, additional donations, etc., but the officers are responsible for the students at their school.
- For example, the officers are responsible for making sure all masks, or other products, are prepped for Allison to pick up so HSFL as a whole can donate to various centers around Maryland.
- Please email us if you’re interested in setting up a club for your school!
- We will have new Updates sections up on our website by this weekend, so if you miss our biweekly Zoom meetings, please check the Team Bulletin! We will be postdating our previous meeting emails as well!

- Reminder for sewers: You all are amazing and thank you for your time and service! But please make sure that your masks do not have human or pet hair on them as some people are allergic and make it more time-consuming for Allison to package.
- A new initiative with the Veterans Affairs Center is coming up!
- If sewing masks have become a little monotone, consider this initiative! The objective will be to make small heart-shaped pillows. We’ll have more information at the next meeting, but email us if you’re interested in this!
That’s it for the recap! See you all at our next meeting on Monday, May 10th from 3 to 3:20pm!
