A new project launched by HSFL! Our mission at HSFL has always been to provide for those who are in  most need. There is no doubt that 2020 was a terrible year. The pandemic tore through the United States and the world, with high cases and deaths per day. The pandemic has become our generation’s defining moment — a moment in history that deserves to be commemorated and remembered.  We are not just numbers. We are people with unique stories, families, and friends.  And, there is tremendous power in taking collective action.

In this Kickstarter, we are asking you to help us create an online memorial remembering the people we have lost.  This site will be a wall of thumbnails of 15-30 second moving videos or pictures of the person having a good time. We hope to organize our website by state and county, where individual users will have the space to reflect and share their stories with others. There may be those who want to grieve privately, but there are also those who might need an outlet to share. We hope to become that platform for those who need a place to come together.

With your support, we will collaborate with a freelance development team to create the site and include high resolution videos or additional features for an easy user experience. We will also be hosting the videos directly due to the sensitivity of the source material.

Like our first Kickstarter, there is 0 money going to the student volunteers. It’s all directed back into the creation of the website. And we will be posting all financial transactions on this site like the updates we did last time. We also just filed our 501c registration in Maryland so all monetary transactions will not be handled by a high school student, but an actual non-profit organization.

We hope to provide many with a place to come to together and unite. And though we are high school students, we are never too young to take action. Please help us and back our project to make this site a reality!
